ALRESFORD Town’s journey on the road to Wembley was halted by Thatcham Town in the Preliminary Round of the FA Cup on Saturday.

Thatcham – who beat Petersfield in the last round – saw off the Magpies 2-0 at Arlebury Park.

Shane Cooper-Clarke and Jason Blount scored the goals which knocked Alresford out.
