ALRESFORD Town enjoyed a good week as they picked up two wins from two matches.

The Magpies started their week with a 2-1 victory at home to Hythe and Dibden in the quarter finals of the Southampton Senior Cup last Tuesday night.

Wayne O’Dell gave the visitors the lead in the 58th minute, but late goals from Connor Whiteley and George Farrelly sent the Magpies through.

Alresford then won 6-0 at home to Cowes Sports in the Sydenhams Wessex League Premier Division on Saturday afternoon.

Luke Ray gave the Magpies an early lead, and Aaron Blaxall scored the second to double Alresford’s lead. Chris Mason’s penalty gave the Magpies a 3-0 lead at half time. The goals continued to flow in the second half as Farrelly made it 4-0 and Paul Coventry scored the fifth.

Ray completed the scoring when he scored his second of the afternoon to make it 6-0.
