ALRESFORD Town had a good week with a win and a draw.

The Magpies started their week with a 2-0 win at home to Over Wallop in the first round of the Andover Open Cup last Wednesday night.

An own goal gave Alresford the lead at Arlebury Park, and Tom Sands sealed the Magpies’ place in the next round when he scored a penalty to make it 2-0.

Alresford were in action in the Sydenhams Wessex League Premier Division on Saturday afternoon, when they drew 2-2 at Bemerton Heath Harlequins.

The Magpies were quick out of the blocks and Tom Sands scored in the tenth minute and again on 15 minutes to give the visitors a 2-0 lead.

Alresford led 2-0 at half time, but goals from Jake Rawkins and Jack Slade in the second half earned Bemerton a share of the spoils. Sands thought he had scored a late winner for Alresford, but it was disallowed for offside.
