ALRESFORD Town reached the Second Round Proper of the FA Vase with a thrilling 5-3 win at home to Lingfield on Saturday afternoon.
The visitors raced into a 3-0 lead at Arlebury Park, but Alresford produced a superb comeback to win the tie. The visitors took the lead through David Heaton’s penalty, and Dan Frith doubled Lingfield’s advantage before Matthew Burroughs made it 3-0 to the visitors. Aaron Blaxall pulled a goal back for the Magpies, and Mo Nyang’s goal made it 3-2 at the end of a breathless first half.
Steve Hall equalised for Alresford early in the second half, and Tom Richards gave the Magpies the lead for the first time in the match. Hall then scored his second goal of the match to seal an entertaining 5-3 win for Alresford.
