ALRESFORD Town returned to winning ways as they earned a comfortable 2-0 victory at home to Andover New Street in the Sydenhams Wessex League Premier Division on Saturday afternoon.

Scott Munro broke the deadlock for the Magpies in the 27th minute when he finished a low cross past Andover goalkeeper George Baxter.

The visitors were reduced to ten men on 30 minutes when Claudio Herbert was shown a straight red card after a poor challenge.

Alresford led 1-0 at half time, and the home side doubled their advantage in the second half when Paul Coventry headed the ball into the net in the 62nd minute.

The Magpies comfortably saw out the rest of the match to claim the three points.
