LISS Athletic manager Rich Bessey was delighted with his team’s display in their emphatic 5-0 win against Hedge End Rangers on Saturday.
The hosts were quick out of the blocks and took the lead in the second minute, and they never looked back after that.
“We worked on defending corners and keeping a clean sheet was the most important thing for us,” said Bessey. “We could have scored so many more goals though. We came out early doors and played the ball forward to Lenny Burney, and he scored.
“Perry Easton scored two goals, and Dan Sharpe then scored two goals. Dan has always got a goal in his locker and he has filled the boots of Alex Miroy. Alex is definitely out injured until January, and we’ll evaluate the injury then.”
