LISS Athletic earned their ninth victory in a row with a 2-0 win at home to Locks Heath on Saturday.

Tommy Woodward broke the deadlock in the 55th minute, and Matt Andrews made it 2-0 on 65 minutes to seal the win.

Liss manager Rich Bessey said: “Locks Heath were very physical and direct, but we played some good football in the second half to expose them.

“Matt Andrews and Alex Miroy have scored a lot of goals for us, so it was good to see Tommy score.”

Liss are in fourth place in the Hampshire Premier Football League Senior Division table, and are just a point behind league leaders Hamble Club.

Clanfield are in eighth place after a 3-3 draw at Bush Hill on Saturday.

Goals from Harry Potter and Dan Coleman gave the Peel Park outfit a 2-0 lead, but Dean Laxton and Tom Mason scored to make it 2-2. Potter scored his second to put the visitors 3-2 up, but Dan Smith earned Bush Hill a point.

Clanfield also played on Thursday, when they lost 3-0 at Headley United.

Ryan Evans scored twice for the hosts, and Matt Rayner also got himself on the scoresheet.

Liphook United are in 12th place after a 1-0 defeat at Infinity on Saturday. Marc Harnett’s goal earned the hosts the win.
