LISS Athletic manager Richard Bessey felt his side had the opportunities to win their League Cup final against Hamble Club on Monday.
Hamble’s clinical finishing proved to be the difference between the two sides on the day.
“We definitely could have won it,” said Bessey.
“We were set up right and we had the right game plan. We kept creating chances and I feel we were the better side on the day, but Hamble took their chances so they deserved to win.”
It was a happier day though for Liss Athletic Reserves, who beat Hamble Club Reserves 2-1 in the Combination League Cup final.
