ANY HOPES Petersfield Town had of getting three points on the board in their fight against relegation were frozen out at the weekend.

Saturday’s match at Love Lane against Hanwell Town was postponed due to a frozen pitch.

Although conditions improved around the time the game would have kicked off, when a referee inspected the playing surface mid-morning it was still frozen solid.

The side immediately above the Rams, Histon, picked up their third win in a row to open up a nine-point gap between the two bottom sides.

Petersfield travel to Beaconsfield SYCOB this Saturday (kick-off 3pm).
