HORNDEAN manager Michael Birmingham was disappointed with his side’s performance in their 1-1 draw at Christchurch in the Sydenhams Wessex League Premier Division on Saturday.
The lowly home side took the lead in the sixth minute through Ash Pope’s goal, but Sean McMonagle’s equaliser on 37 minutes earned the Deans a share of the spoils.
Birmingham said: “We were sluggish. It was quite a boring game. Both teams bored me.
“Christchurch are fighting for their lives and we’re having a good season, but it looked like an end-of-season game.
“We were very flat. I want my team to play with a high intensity and with good aggression in possession.
“We didn’t wake up for 25 minutes and we were below expectations. We probably had eight people off it.
“It’s ten games unbeaten but we were below our standards. It shows we’ve got to be at it every game.”
