HORNDEAN got back to winning ways with a 3-1 victory at Cowes Sports on Saturday afternoon.
Miles Everett, Alfie Lis and Dan Sackman scored the goals which gave the Deans the win.
Horndean manager Michael Birmingham was pleased with his side’s performance in difficult conditions.
Birmingham said: “We had to grind out the win.
“The match was played on a very difficult pitch in very difficult conditions, but full credit to Cowes for getting the game on.
“The most important thing was to get the three points, but we were very good out of possession.
“If we hadn’t matched their effort we would have been beaten.”
The three points leave the Deans in third place in the Sydenhams Wessex League Premier Division table.
