EAST Hampshire’s football teams face a busy day of fixtures on Saturday.
In the Sydenhams Wessex League Premier Division, seventh-placed Alresford Town will look to continue their good form when they entertain tenth-placed Hamworthy United at Arlebury Park (3pm).
Horndean will travel to Portland United in the First Round Proper of the FA Vase (3pm).
The Deans are the last East Hampshire side left in the FA Vase, and manager Michael Birmingham is expecting a difficult match.
“It is a tough draw,” said Birmingham.
“They are the reigning Wessex League champions and they are big favourites.
“We have to work hard in and out of possession to get the result we need. Everyone wants a good run in the FA Vase, but you need a certain amount of luck.”
In the Hampshire Premier League Senior Division, second-placed Liphook United are on the road and will travel to Jubilee Field to face tenth-placed Sway (3pm), 12th-placed Liss Athletic will host 14th-placed Fleetlands at the Newman Collard Playing Fields (3pm), and seventh-placed Clanfield are on the road and will travel to Stockbridge Recreation Ground for a mid-table clash against eighth-placed Stockbridge (3pm).
In the second round of the Aldershot Intermediate Cup, AFC Petersfield are on the road and will travel to Hartley Wintney A (2.30pm), while Liphook United Reserves will entertain West End Village at Liphook Recreation Ground (2.30pm).
Alresford Town are also in action next Wednesday night (October 25), when they will host 15th-placed Shaftesbury at Arlebury Park in the Sydenhams Wessex League Premier Division (7.45pm).
