CLANFIELD reached the next round of the Hampshire Trophy after beating United Services Portsmouth Reserves in the second round on Saturday.

Clanfield won 5-4 on penalties after the two sides had played out a 1-1 draw.

The home side took the lead in the first half when a header into the top corner left Clanfield keeper Olly Howley with no chance.

Clanfield got back on level terms in the second half when Elliot Sills picked the ball up and ran forward and hit a shot from 25 yards which the home team’s keeper let slip through his hands.

With the game ending 1-1 at the final whistle it went straight to penalties. The home side missed their fourth penalty, and Oli Amos stepped up to score the winning penalty for the visitors.
