CLANFIELD secured their Hampshire Premier League Senior Division status with a 4-1 win at home to QK Southampton on Easter Monday.

It was a winner-takes- all clash at Peel Park, and Clanfield held their nerve to come out on top and relegate their visitors.

The home side got off to a poor start, though, as QK Southampton took the lead in the first minute through Sam Koroma’s goal.

Harry Potter got the Peel Park outfit back on level terms on nine minutes, before scoring his and Clanfield’s second goal of the afternoon in the 68th minute to make it 2-1 to the home side.

Potter completed his hat-trick on 78 minutes, before scoring his and Clanfield’s fourth goal of the afternoon in the 90th minute to complete the scoring for the day.

The margin of victory could have been even greater, but an impressive performance by QK Southampton goalkeeper Dean Curnow kept the score down.
