PETERSFIELD Town manager John Robson has started a clear out of players after his side’s dismal showing at Northwood on Saturday.
The Rams boss has vowed to sweep away the dead wood in his squad after another disappointing performance, this time losing 4-0 on the road.
He declared that some of his side simply “laid down and rolled over” against opposition who started the game with eight new players in their ranks.
Now Robson has decided that enough is enough and he will be showing some players the door while looking to bring in new recruits who are hungry to play for the club going forward.
The Rams boss said:?“Northwood had eight new players out there against us on Saturday and they still played us off the park.
“I had three or four out there doing the business but the rest just went missing.
“Too many players have the attitude at this club that it doesn’t matter what happens as they will still pick up their money.
“When we lost possession some players were just jogging back. One or two were honest enough to admit to me that the performance was a disgrace.”
Robson and his coaching staff met with chairman Graeme Moir after Saturday’s game to discuss a way forward and he backed the plans which were drawn up.
Robson added:?“We need to sweep away the cobwebs.
“I have made a number of phone calls and a few of them look promising already.”
