PETERSFIELD Town supporters will get the chance to meet comedian Hugh Dennis before Saturday’s big game against Northwood.
The star of popular BBC?television shows Mock the Week and Outnumbered will be at Love Lane to celebrate the club’s support for the Dementia Friendly Petersfield campaign.
The Rams added the initiative’s logo to their new shirts for this season to show the club’s backing for a campaign which has received plenty of support from a variety of Petersfield businesses and groups.
The popular comedian will be meeting supporters of both the club and the scheme between 1.30pm and 2.30pm at a special pre-match event to celebrate the setting up of Dementia Friendly Petersfield – which aims to make sure businesses and groups in the town centre are more aware of the condition and better prepared to help people living with dementia.
Petersfield Town chairman Graeme Moir said:?“We are really proud to be welcoming Hugh Dennis and members of the Dementia Friendly Petersfield scheme to the club before Saturday’s match.
“There will be a chance for people to meet Hugh and have their photo taken with him, as well as entertainment from youth football sides on the pitch before the main game and some special ceremonies on the pitch too.
“The club supports at least one charity every season and we are very proud to support the Friends group.”
