Lymington Town 8 Petersfield Town 1: PETERSFIELD’S goals against tally passed the 100 mark for the season on Saturday afternoon during another heavy defeat in the Sydenhams Wessex League Premier Division.

The Rams have now conceded 103 goals in the 23 league games they have played so far this campaign – almost double the amount conceded by any other side in the division.

The Premier Division table doesn’t make for pretty reading for the Rams as not only are they propping up the division but they are also the lowest goalscorers so far as well.

Jake King fired the home side in front during the opening exchanges of this encounter and Steve Walker soon made it 2-0 to Lymington.

Charlie Willett got the third goal on the half hour mark to ensure the home side went in 3-0 up at half time.

Harry Tremlett pulled a goal back for Petersfield on 55 minutes but King extinguished any hopes of a comeback for the visitors with his second goal of the game on 70 minutes.

Walker grabbed his second of the game almost immediately after this and Petersfield’s misery was compounded when home keeper Ross Casey saved a penalty from the visitors.

Petersfield’s resolve seemed to vanish after that point and they conceded another three goals in the final ten minutes of the match.

Sam House got himself on the scoresheet before two late goals for Willett allowed him to complete his hat-trick.
