Petersfield Town 0 Bashley 3: THREE second half goals gave visiting side Bashley all three points at Petersfield last Tuesday night.

It was a result which mathematically confirmed that the Rams will finish bottom of the Wessex Premier Division table this season.

The first serious effort on goal in this match came in the fifth minute from Bashley striker Dan Munday, who was to prove a handful throughout, when he forced a save from Rams keeper Luke Eaton.

Bashley came close with further efforts from Munday and Conor Whiteley, but as the first half progressed play became more even with both sides threatening.

On 22 minutes Petersfield striker Billy Connor set up a chance for Jordan Hughes, who forced a good save from Bashley keeper Mike Edgar.

Bashley produced further efforts on goal from Dan Thompson, Munday and Whiteley in the latter stages of the first half, but the home side defended well to deservedly go in level at half time.

However, not for the first time this season, Petersfield went behind early in the second period when Munday volleyed home within two minutes of the re-start.

The visitors gradually took control of the game as the second half wore on and they extended their lead when a cross from Munday was headed home by Whiteley in the 71st minute.

Bashley continued to create chances and although Petersfield plugged away the impressive Munday scored a third for the visitors in the 89th minute to wrap up the three points.
