ALRESFORD Town had a difficult week as they slipped to two defeats.

The Magpies started their week with a 2-0 defeat at AFC Totton last Tuesday night in the third round of the Southampton Senior Cup.

Silvano Obeng broke the deadlock for the home side in the 80th minute, and Matt Bozier scored Totton’s second goal on 90 minutes to knock the defending champions out of the competition.

League leaders Alresford then crashed to a comprehensive 5-0 defeat at fellow high-fliers Portland United in the Sydenhams Wessex League Premier Division on Saturday.

The Magpies were reduced to ten men early on when Chris Mason was sent off.

Jamie Symes broke the deadlock for the home side in the 27th minute, and James Cox doubled Portland’s advantage on 29 minutes.

Ben Morris scored Portland’s third goal in the 61st minute, and Bailey Rowe made it 4-0 on 65 minutes.

Mo Hereka completed the scoring when he scored the home side’s fifth and final goal in the 82nd minute.
