HORNDEAN had to settle for a share of the spoils as they drew 1-1 at Tadley Calleva in the Sydenhams Wessex League Premier Division on Saturday afternoon.
Andrew Charsley was on target for the home side, while Connor Duffin scored a penalty for the Five Heads Park outfit.
Horndean manager Michael Birmingham said: “It was a tough game. When we turned up and saw how rutty the pitch was we were happy to take a point.
“We were a little bit too lethargic in possession in the first half and we weren’t on the front foot.
“At half time I told the players to up the tempo and be on the front foot, and we were very dominant in the second half.
“Connor has come back from an injury and he is always a handful. He came on and did ever so well for us.
“He deserved to win the penalty and he scored it with a good composed finish.”
