EAST Hampshire’s football clubs are facing a frenetic end to the season, thanks to the continual bad weather.
Horndean still have 10 matches to play in the Sydenhams Wessex League’s Premier Division, with the season due to finish on April 21.
Fixtures secretaries of the Wessex, Wyvern and Hampshire leagues will be keeping their fingers crossed that no more matches are lost to the weather in the weeks ahead.
Some clubs are already facing three matches being played every seven days as leagues attempt to squeeze in all of their remaining matches before the deadlines for their ends of the season pass.
In the Wessex Premier Division, Horndean must play 10 league matches in the remaining 22 days left officially for the season.
Petersfield Town still have another eight matches to play, with two of those games still to be found dates on the calendar, and Alresford Town have five matches still to be played.
In the Hampshire Premier League, midweek evening matches have been arranged to clear the backlog of fixtures now the clocks have gone forward.
Liss Athletic still have nine matches to fit in to complete their season, Liphook United have eight left and Clanfield have six to play.
But with more bad weather forecast, leagues will have to look at extending their seasons if more midweek and weekend fixtures are wiped out.
