ALRESFORD Town had an excellent week, picking up two wins from two matches.

The Magpies started their week with a 6-1 victory against Cowes Sports at Arlebury Park in the second round of the Hampshire Senior Cup last Tuesday night.

Louis Russell gave the Magpies the lead in the 30th minute, and Sam Burt doubled the home side’s advantage on 37 minutes.

Gareth Bricknell pulled a goal back for the visitors in the 53rd minute, but Burt scored his second goal of the evening and Alresford’s fourth on 60 minutes to make it 3-1.

Burt then completed his hat-trick in the 68th minute to make it 4-1, and Ben White scored Alresford’s fifth goal on 80 minutes.

Ik Hill completed the scoring when he made it 6-1 to the Magpies in the 85th minute.

Alresford then earned a 2-0 win at Lymington Town in the Sydenhams Wessex League Premier Division on Saturday afternoon.

Geoff Dunn broke the deadlock for the visitors in the 43rd minute, and Liam Hibberd sealed the three points for the Magpies when he doubled their advantage on 50 minutes.
