ALRESFORD Town are through to the second qualifying round of the FA Cup after winning their first qualifying round replay at Fareham Town 4-2 last Tuesday night.
The hosts took the lead through Callum Laycock’s goal, but Geoff Dunn equalised for the Magpies.
Fareham regained the lead through Ash Tattersall’s goal, but Alresford were back on level terms thanks to Liam Hall’s goal.
The Magpies went ahead for the first time on the night thanks to Mohammad Nyang’s goal, and Jamie Nash then got on the scoresheet to make it 4-2 to Alresford.
The Magpies will host Western League Premier Division outfit Cadbury Heath at Arlebury Park on Saturday (3pm) in the second qualifying round.
Alresford also progressed in the FA Vase on Saturday afternoon with a 5-1 win at home to Chippenham Park.
The Magpies fell behind early on but soon equalised thanks to Harry Davies’ goal.
Aaron Blaxall’s goal gave Alresford a 2-1 lead at half time, and the Magpies extended their advantage in the second half as Stephen Hall’s brace gave the hosts a 4-1 lead.
Tom Sands then got on the scoresheet to make it 5-1 and complete the scoring for the day.
