HORNDEAN crashed out of the FA Vase on Saturday, thanks to a hat-trick scored by Barnstaple Town’s Dave Pearse.
The Deans got off to a good start when Mark Smith opened the scoring after 11 minutes.
However, Pearse equalised when he got to a right-wing cross ahead of strike partner Ryan Turner and Horndean had Alfie Smith sent off for a foul where he was the last defender.
Pearse put Barnstaple ahead just before half time, smashing the ball in after a great first touch.
The third came midway through the second half with Pearce finishing at the back post from a Liam Gregory cross.
The Deans travel to Portland United in the Wessex League Cup before hosting Follands Sports in the Wessex Premier Division next Tuesday evening.
