ALRESFORD Town are in ninth place in the Sydenhams Wessex League Premier Division after earning a comprehensive 5-2 victory at Newport IOW on Saturday afternoon.
The hosts made a good start and almost took the lead when Ryan Thomas’ effort hit the crossbar.
It was the Magpies who took the lead though through Tom Richards’ free kick, and Keelan Sainsbury’s own goal then made it 2-0 to the visitors.
Sam Burt made it 3-0 to Alresford, and Steve Hall then scored to give the visitors an emphatic 4-0 lead at half time.
