HORNDEAN returned to winning ways with a five-star performance as they swept aside Infinity 5-0 in the first round of the Russell Cotes Cup last Tuesday night.
Bobby Scott helped himself to a hat-trick, and Sammy Kessack and Zak Sharpe were also on target for the Five Heads Park outfit.
Horndean manager Michael Birmingham said: “We fielded a relatively strong side, although a number of players still had the night off. We were very good on the night and the boys did ever so well.
“If Infinity had played us a week earlier, when we lost to Raynes Park Vale, they would have beaten us.
“Bobby still remains a work in progress. He needs to get fitter and do more out of possession, but he took his goals very well.”
