IT’S THE re-match they never wanted but next Wednesday (November 25) Petersfield Town face Fleet Town at Love Lane yet again.

The sides first met on August 12 for what was meant to be Petersfield’s first home game in the Southern League.

The Rams tore the visitors apart in the first half and led 4-0 at half time before the game had to be abandoned due to floodlight failure.

The season could have taken a very different route if that match had been completed and the victory had stood. League officials ordered that the game must be replayed and the two sides will try again next week.
