HORNDEAN returned to winning ways in style with a 4-1 victory at home to Alresford Town in the Sydenhams Wessex League Premier Division on Saturday afternoon.
Harry Jackson gave the Deans the lead at Five Heads Park, but Paul Coventry’s equaliser meant it was all square at 1-1 at half time.
The hosts regained the lead in the second half through Jack Maloney’s penalty, and an own goal made it 3-1.
Jackson sealed the win when he scored his second of the afternoon to make it 4-1.
Horndean manager Michael Birmingham said: “The conditions were very tough with the wind swirling, but once we got to grips with it we played some wonderful stuff.
“The lads were a bit on edge after the Lymington game, but once we went 2-1 up it was like a weight had been liffted off their shoulders.
“Jack’s penalty was a massive moment and Harry’s second was a wonderful goal.”
