ALRESFORD Town got their Sydenhams Wessex League Premier Division campaign off to the perfect start with a hard-fought 2-0 victory at home to Cowes Sports on Saturday afternoon.

Craig Harding broke the deadlock for the Magpies to give the home side the lead.

Duarte Martins then scored the second goal to double Alresford’s lead and seal the three points for the hosts.
