HORNDEAN continued their good form with a 4-1 victory away at Fareham Town in the Sydenhams Wessex League Premier Division on Saturday.

Gary Austin’s goal gave Fareham a 1-0 lead at half time, but two goals from Connor Duffin and two goals from Harry Jackson turned the match around and gave the Deans a comprehensive 4-1 win.

Horndean manager Michael Birmingham said: “Even though we were 1-0 down at half time we were still in charge. We didn’t defend too well for Fareham’s goal, but we were still in total control.

“We were a bit stop-start with our movement, which wasn’t good enough, and at half time I said to be patient, keep playing and stop being lazy off the ball.

“As soon as we scored the first goal there was only going to be one winner, and it was quite convincing in the end.

“Connor and Harry both took their goals extremely well and showed good composure.”
