HORNDEAN continued their good form with a 1-0 victory away at Eversley and California in the First Round Proper of the FA Vase on Saturday afternoon.

Alfie Lis scored the only goal of the game to seal Horndean’s place in the Second Round Proper.

The Five Heads Park outfit have now won seven successive games in all competitions.

Horndean manager Michael Birmingham was pleased with his team’s win, but felt his side should have been more clinical in front of goal.

Birmingham said: “We weren’t as fluent as we have been in other games.

“In the first half we had enough chances to be out of sight, but we should have been more clinical.

“Our decision-making and final pass was not always right.

“In the second half Eversley and California had a go, but my goalkeeper didn’t have a lot to do.”
