HORNDEAN manager Michael Birmingham praised his side’s clinical finishing after their 6-0 win against Hamworthy United at Five Heads Park on Saturday.
Miles Everett (2), Tyler Moret, Jack Maloney, Mark Smith and Josh Maloney scored the goals for the Five Heads Park outfit.
“We put a very good side to rest,” said Birmingham.
“Every side gets one whacking a season though, like we experienced against Blackfield and Langley.

“It helped that they had a player sent off, but we were the better side before that.
“We went in 2-0 up at half time, and in the second half we were very clinical in front of goal. Most things we hit went in.”
Deans goalkeeper Tom Price also played a crucial part in Saturday’s win by saving two penalties.
Birmingham said: “Tom Price saved two penalties and it was very good goalkeeping, but he was there to do his job.”
Everett’s two goals on Saturday took him to 11 so far for this season, and Birmingham has laid down a goal challenge for him.
“I set Miles a target of 15 goals at the start of the season,” said Birmingham.
“I’ve now told him to aim for 20 to 25 goals, and if an attacking midfielder gets anything around 20 goals you will have a strong season.
“Nobody ever fancies Horndean do they, but we’re quite happy to remain under the radar.”
