HORNDEAN won 3-0 against Bournemouth in the Sydenhams Wessex League Premier Division on Saturday afternoon.

Connor Duffin’s penalty broke the deadlock for the home side, and Miles Everett’s goal gave the Deans a 2-0 lead at half time. Ash Howes’ goal in the second half made it 3-0 and sealed the three points.

Horndean manager Michael Birmingham said: “It is a good start to the season and we have carried on the momentum from last season.

“The boys are doing well and they realise if the standards drop I won’t be happy. The way the boys look out for each other is brilliant. There are no big time Charlies, they are level headed lads who work hard for each other.”
