HORNDEAN are in seventh place in the Sydenhams Wessex League Premier Division after winning 3-2 at Hamworthy United on Saturday.
Sam Smart gave the visitors the lead on 42 minutes, but Asa Phillips scored twice in the second half to give Hamworthy a 2-1 lead. Robbie Tambling equalised in the 76th minute, and Jack Maloney’s 78th-minute penalty gave the Deans the three points.
Horndean were also in action last Thursday night, when they slipped to a 3-0 defeat at Sydenhams Wessex League Premier Division champions Salisbury.
The match was due to be played at Five Heads Park, but was switched to Salisbury as Horndean’s pitch would not have definitely been able to host the game. After a goalless first half, Adam Kelly, Stephen Walker and Jamie White scored goals which gave the champions the three points.
