HORNDEAN had a disappointing week as they failed to win any of their three matches.

The Deans suffered cup heartbreak last Tuesday night, when they lost 3-2 at Portland United in the semi finals of the Sydenhams League Cup.

Brandon Jewell gave the visitors an early lead in the fourth minute, and Liam Kimber doubled Horndean’s advantage on seven minutes.

Jamie Beasley pulled a goal back for Portland in the ninth minute, and Beasley scored his second goal of the evening on 66 minutes to make it 2-2.

Beasley completed his hat-trick in the 78th minute to send Portland through to the cup final.

Horndean then fell to a disappointing 3-1 defeat at lowly Shaftesbury in the Sydenhams Wessex League Premier Divison on Saturday.

Jack Mitchell gave the hosts the lead, and Nick Hewlett then doubled Shaftesbury’s advantage.

Sean McMonagle pulled a goal back for the Deans, but Mitchell then scored his second to seal the win for Shaftesbury.

The Deans then drew 2-2 at Team Solent in the Sydenhams Wessex League Premier Division on Monday night. Jack Lee’s double put Horndean 2-1 up, but the hosts scored a late equaliser.
