HORNDEAN exited the FA Vase on Saturday as they slipped to a 2-0 defeat away at Chertsey Town in the Second Round Proper on Saturday afternoon.
The Deans had won 1-0 at Eversley and California in the First Round Proper of the FA Vase, but they came unstuck at Chertsey.
Dale Binns gave the hosts the lead in the 33rd minute, and Michael Peacock doubled the home side’s advantage on 35 minutes.
Horndean manager Michael Birmingham said: “We should have been 1-0 up after five minutes, but we missed a great chance.
“For the next 20 minutes we were quite comfortable, but a crazy five minutes cost us and we shot ourselves in the foot.”
