HORNDEAN manager Michael Birmingham was delighted with his side’s performance after they drew 3-3 at Solent University in the Sydenhams Wessex League Premier Division on Saturday.
Goals from Jack Maloney and Greg Peel had given the Deans a 2-0 lead at half time.
Davidson Borges pulled a goal back for the hosts in the 66th minute, but Bobby Scott struck to make it 3-1 to the Five Heads Park outfit.
Borges scored his second of the game on 82 minutes, before Kristian Andonov struck on 93 minutes to rescue a point for Solent University.
And Birmingham was still pleased with his sides efforts, despite the late equaliser.
“I am very happy with how we played at times,” he said.
“For 65 to 70 minutes we played some excellent football.
“I’ve built a team that’s exciting and isn’t going to sit back.
“We’re a good side when everyone is fully fit.
“We conceded a couple of soft goals, but knowing how to shut up shop will be part of their learning development.”
