HORNDEAN returned to action with a 1-1 draw at home to Andover Town in the Sydenhams Wessex League Premier Division on Saturday afternoon.

Adam Grange gave the visitors the lead in the first half when he tapped the ball over the line.

The Deans responded well in the second half and equalised when Ian Humble scored from close range.

Horndean continued to press and when Connor Duffin was fouled by Andover keeper Lloyd Thomas just outside the penalty area, Thomas was shown a straight red card.

The resultant free kick came to nothing though and the Five Heads Park outfit were unable to find a winner despite their numerical advantage, and had to settle for a share of the spoils.

The Deans hadn’t been in action since drawing 2-2 at Whitchurch United on January 14 after a number of matches were postponed.
