HORNDEAN returned to winning ways as they won 3-1 away at Brockenhurst in the Sydenhams Wessex League Premier Division on Saturday afternoon.

Matt Sheedy gave the hosts the lead, but Harry Jackson’s equaliser meant it was 1-1 at half time.

Jackson’s second goal and Jack Maloney’s penalty gave the Deans the three points.

Horndean manager Michael Birmingham was pleased with his side’s performance in their 3-1 win.

Birmingham said: “It is always difficult going to Brockenhurst, who are very well organised.

“We missed two good chances at 0-0 and we went 1-0 down, but we stayed patient and we passed the ball very well.

“In the second half it was a matter of when we would take the lead.

“Harry scored a great goal and Jack took his penalty very well.”
