HORNDEAN continued their good form with an impressive 3-2 victory away at Portland United in the Sydenhams Wessex League Premier Division on Saturday afternoon.
The match was played in difficult conditions, with a strong wind making it tough for both teams.
Ryan McKechnie was sent off for the hosts early on, and Sean McMonagle broke the deadlock to give the Deans the lead.
Max Buckler equalised straight from a corner to make it 1-1 at half time.

Howes then scored direct from a corner again to give the Deans the three points.
Horndean manager Michael Birmingham said: “They were the most difficult conditions I’ve ever seen with a strong wind going straight across the pitch.
“I’ve never seen anything like it.
“The conditions did ruin the game but credit to Portland as both teams tried to play.
“Even Real Madrid and Barcelona would have struggled to get to grips with those conditions.
“We came away with the three points though.”
