HORNDEAN had to settle for a share of the spoils from their trip to Bashley on Saturday afternoon after they conceded a late equaliser to draw 1-1 in their Sydenhams Wessex League Premier Division match.
After a goalless first half Harry Jackson broke the deadlock for the visitors in the 52nd minute, and the Deans had the chance to go 2-0 up when they were awarded a penalty, but the penalty was saved by the Bashley keeper.
The home side made Horndean pay when Dan Munday scored an equaliser in the 91st minute to make it 1-1.
Horndean manager Michael Birmingham was disappointed with his side’s performance.
Birmingham said: “We were not good enough to take the three points.
“Harry took his goal extremely well but even he would say it wasn’t his best game.”
