ALRESFORD Town had a mixed week as they lost a cup final, and semi final, but ended their league campaign on a high.

The Magpies started their week with a 3-0 defeat against Andover New Street in the Andover Open Cup final last Wednesday night.

Zach Neve (2) and Shane Lock scored the goals which won Andover the cup.

Alresford bounced back in impressive style as they finished their Sydenhams Wessex League Premier Division campaign with a convincing 6-2 win at Amesbury Town last Friday night.

Sam Burt, Craig Harding, Sam Doswell, Ben White and Geoff Dunn (2) scored the goals which gave the Magpies the three points.

Sam Walsh and Thomas Wheeler scored Amesbury’s goals.

The win meant Alresford finished in seventh place in the league table with 70 points from 42 matches.

The Magpies finished their week with more cup heartbreak as they lost 3-0 at home to Tadley Calleva in the semi finals of the North Hants Senior Cup on Monday night.

Paul Coventry and Brett Denham (2) scored the goals which sent the visitors through to the cup final.
