LISS Athletic are in tenth place in the Hampshire Premier League Senior Division table after winning a thrilling East Hampshire derby 6-4 away at Clanfield on Saturday afternoon.

James Knight gave the visitors the perfect start when he scored in the first minute, and Connor Messenbird had Liss in dreamland when he doubled the visitors’ advantage and made it 2-0 after only two minutes.

Jake Warlow made it 3-0 to Liss in the tenth minute, before Harry Potter pulled a goal back for the Peel Park outfit on 18 minutes.

Daniel Sharpe made it 4-1 to the visitors in the 20th minute, before Potter scored his second goal of the afternoon on 53 minutes.

Messenbird scored his second and Liss’ fifth goal of the afternoon in the 57th minute, before Potter completed his hat-trick on 68 minutes to make it 5-3.

Not to be outdone, Messenbird completed his hat-trick in the 74th minute.

Andy Brown’s penalty on 87 minutes made it 6-4.

The defeat leaves Clanfield in fourth place in the Hampshire Premier League Senior Division table.
