LISS Athletic crashed out of the Hampshire Intermediate Cup though as they lost a penalty shoot-out away at defending champions Whitecroft and Barton Sports after the sides played out a 2-2 draw in the third round on Saturday afternoon.

Joshua Benfield scored Liss’ first goal of the afternoon in the ninth minute, and Jake Warlow’s goal on 78 minutes earned the visitors a draw.

The match eventually went to penalties, and Liss lost 5-3 in the penalty shoot-out.
