LISS Athletic exited the Portsmouth Senior Cup last Wednesday night with a 2-0 defeat against Baffins Milton Rovers at the Newman Collard Playing Fields.

Blu Boam broke the deadlock for the visitors in the 60th minute, and Chaz Gardner’s 69th-minute goal sealed Baffins’ place in the next round of the cup.

Liss Athletic manager Rich Bessey said: “In the first half both sides had chances and were in the game.

“At half time we were positive, but Baffins took their chances in the second half.”

Since the defeat, Liss have signed full-back Neil Perkins.

“Neil is 37 years old and is as fit as a fiddle,” said Bessey.

“He will add experience and a level head.”
