LISS Athletic fell to a 4-2 defeat at Hayling United after twice taking the lead in the Hampshire Premier League Senior Division on Saturday.

George Root’s goal gave Liss the lead in the 15th minute, but Will Ford’s equaliser for Hayling on 43 minutes meant the sides went in on level terms at half time at 1-1.

Liss regained the lead when Root scored his second goal of the afternoon in the 60th minute, but Olayemi Olabamiji equalised for Hayling on 70 minutes to make it 2-2.

Josh Watts gave the home side the lead for the first time when he scored in the 77th minute, and Olabamiji scored his second of the afternoon on 85 minutes to seal Hayling’s 4-2 win.

The defeat leaves Liss in 12th place in the Hampshire Premier League Senior Division table.
