LISS Athletic are planning improvements to their facilities at Newman Collard.

Liss announced the move in an official club statement.

It said: “At the end of 2015 the club had an inspection from the Wessex League regarding which improvements we would need at our current ground to enter the league. The main area that was an issue was needing 1.8m fencing to enclose the ground.

“The Newman Collard Trust has worked very closely with the club and very much wants the club to play Wessex League football in Liss if we can achieve this and we very much appreciate their help and assistance.

“The fencing is a stumbling block and goes back to the covenants on the playing field, however, the club have had discussions with the trust with an alternative idea to the fence which in principle they have agreed for us to explore further.

“We will now produce detailed drawings of our plans along with the costings and will submit this to the trust and the parish council for approval along with submissions to the Wessex League ground department.”
