LISS Athletic manager Rich Bessey was disappointed with the referee after his side were held to a 3-3 draw at Overton United on Saturday.

Liss remain in fourth place in the Puma Engineering Hampshire Premier League Senior Division after earning a share of the spoils.

Lenny Burney scored twice for the visitors, and Glyn Cooper was also on target for Bessey’s side.

Kirk Smith, Siyanni Thomas and Myles Englefield were all on target for the home side.

Bessey said: “We were massively let down by the official, who was poor.

“We all have bad games and I guess this was one of the referee’s bad games.

“We had our keeper sent off after 20 minutes – our captain then went in goal until the second half, then Aaron Fennemore took over.

“Lenny Burney hit another two to take him to 25 goals – what a great season he is having.”

Attention now turns to tonight’s (Wednesday) League Cup semi final against Baffins Milton Rovers, which will be held at Locks Heath FC.

“Tonight is a big game and we welcome back Chris Clarke, Josh Hazel, Bryn McKie, Sean Oliver and Alex Miroy, so we should be at full strength,” said Bessey.
