LISS Athletic are in second place in the Puma Engineering Hampshire Premier League Senior Division after earning a comprehensive 5-0 victory against Hedge End Rangers on Saturday.
The result was the perfect response from Rich Bessey’s side after they exited the Hampshire Intermediate Cup last week with a 3-2 defeat at West Wight.
The home side got off to the dream start at the Newman Collard Playing Fields, as they took the lead in the second minute through Lenny Burney’s goal.
Perry Easton doubled the advantage when he made it 2-0 on 20 minutes, and Easton then scored his second and Liss’ third in the 35th minute.
The goals continued to flow in the second half, as Dan Sharpe made it 4-0 to Liss on 56 minutes.
Sharpe then completed the scoring for the day when he scored his second in the 58th minute to make it 5-0.
