LISS Athletic remain in second place in the Hampshire Premier League Senior Division after drawing 1-1 against Infinity last Wednesday.

Alex Miroy gave the home side the lead in the 15th minute, but Stefan Williams’ 29th-minute equaliser was enough to earn the visitors a point.

The draw ended Liss’ impressive 15-game winning run in the league.

Victory would have taken Liss to the top of the league, and manager Rich Bessey felt his side had missed an opportunity.

“It was a disappointing game,” said Bessey.

“We had a game plan to win the game and go top of the league, but I think we buckled on the night.

“We tried hard and played a lot of good football, and their keeper was the man-of-the-match.”
